Why study Operations Excellence?
The graduate certificate in Operations Excellence is designed to give students in-depth expertise in the functional areas of a business related to operations planning and execution. This includes issues such as supply chain management, supplier sourcing, staff scheduling, inventory reduction, quality initiatives, cost control, and project management. This certificate will provide deep, specific knowledge that is useful to those with a strong business background as well as those with expertise in other areas, such as engineering, medicine, design, liberal arts, etc., who have moved into, or are seeking to move into, a managerial role. The certificate emphasizes the use of logical thinking and analytical methods to solve operational problems in service and manufacturing environments.
The certificate in Operations Excellence is offered through the Department of Operations & Business Analytics in the Carl H Lindner College of Business. Students will work closely with faculty experts in operations management and business analytics. This certificate has been developed in conjunction with leading Cincinnati-area companies to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to allow graduates to succeed in business. Students who complete the certificate in Operations Excellence will be well positioned to improve existing business processes, reduce costs and increase efficiencies. This certificate is also an excellent means of gaining a competitive advantage for those seeking, or entering, jobs with managerial responsibilities including cost metrics and operational efficiencies.

Graduates can pursue roles related to process improvement, operational strategy, supply chain coordination, and performance optimization across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, consulting, and technology.

Some careers may require additional training or education.Certificates are granted to those who satisfactorily complete the required course work, carrying a minimum GPA of 3.0 or more. Certificates must be completed within five years of acceptance into the program. All students must contract for graduation.
Certificate programs are not eligible for transfer students as students must complete the entire certificate program in residence.
Graduate certificates are designed to be completed on a part-time basis and are not available to international applicants who require full-time status. International students can complete graduate certificates as part of a graduate degree program.
