Our Mission

Our mission is to equip aspiring entrepreneurs from all backgrounds with the skills, resources and connections to launch and scale their business ideas and build an entrepreneurial mindset. We endeavor to catalyze the commercialization of marketable technologies and translational research, as well as foster connections to the local startup and business communities.

Love, Emma makes functional fashionable for individuals with disabilities

February 13, 2026

Emma Biros, an alum of UC's Special Education program, never wanted to be a teacher. Rather, she aimed to make the world a better place for people living with disabilities. She fell in love with transition work while working in CECH's IDD Education Center, which led her to a position with a local non-profit, Genesis at Work. Today, Biros is launching her Love, Emma line of adaptive clothing designed to make functional fashionable for young women with disabilities.

Highlights from UC Startup Weekend

February 4, 2026

Entrepreneurial students raced the clock and each other during UC Startup Weekend, a high-energy three-day hackathon where teams competed for up to $5,000 in prizes.
