Academic Insights for Practice & Lindner Investment Challenge Finals
Join the Johnson Investment Institute on Monday, April 20 from 12:45-4 p.m. in Lindner Hall 1220-1225 for Academic Insights for Practice & Lindner Investment Challenge Finals.
This event is intended for current students as well as finance industry professionals and practitioners. Admission is free and lunch will be provided.

The event begins with Lindner Investment Challenge finalists presenting their investment thesis to six judges:

- Sam Ekis, Investment Director, UC Investment Office
- Charles Rinehart, Chief Investment Officer, Principal, Johnson Investment Counsel
- Soniya Shah, Assistant Portfolio Manager, Ameritas Investment Partners
- Steven Soloria, EVP & Chief Investment Officer, Cincinnati Insurance Companies
Challenge participants spent three months trading U.S. equities and exchange-traded funds with the goal of outperforming the S&P 500 while managing risk and controlling transaction costs. $18,000 ($10,000 to first place) in scholarship funding is available to the top three teams.
Following the Challenge Finals, Professor Daniel, the former CIO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, will deliver an Academic Insights for Practice talk entitled, “The $300 Million/Day Problem: Inefficiencies in the Securities Lending Market.”
