Undergraduate Program
Flexible and multi-disciplinary, the undergraduate program in real estate combines a core curriculum covering the functional areas of business (accounting, finance, information systems, management, marketing, and quantitative analysis) with specialized coursework in real estate. Students also are exposed to other disciplines which impact the field of real estate, i.e. construction, geography, planning, civil engineering. These elective courses are offered by four of UC's other colleges, many of which boast nationally ranked departments: Applied Science; Arts & Sciences; Design, Architecture, Art & Planning; and Engineering. The MBA with a concentration in real estate was launched in September 1991 in response to an increasing demand for graduate education across the nation in the field, particularly among corporate real estate divisions and institutional investors. Support from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and exposure to groups like the Building Owners Managers Association (BOMA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE), National Association of REALTORS (NAR) and others, provided invaluable networking opportunities for the University of Cincinnati.
