The Business Minor
(For Non-Business Bachelor Degree-Seeking Students at UC)
Students in other University of Cincinnati baccalaureate colleges may pursue the Business Minor. Interested students should make an appointment with the Business Minor advisor by contacting the Undergraduate Programs Office of the College of Business (Room 105, Carl H. Lindner Hall) at (513) 556-7030.
The Business Minor Process
- To apply, meet with the Business Minor advisor in Room 105 Lindner Hall
- Complete foundation and upper-level courses (while adhering to all prerequisites)
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA in all minor courses
- Meet with the Business Minor advisor two quarters prior to your graduation date to ensure requirements are met and to verify the minor will be awarded
Foundation Courses
- 15 ECON 101 (3) - Introduction to Economics
- 22 ACCT 281 (5) - Introduction to Financial Accounting
- 22 ACCT 282 (5) - Introduction to Managerial Accounting (prerequisite: 22 ACCT 281)
- 22 BLAW 280 (4) - Legal Environment of Business
- 22 IS 280 (5) - Computer Problem Solving for Business
- 22 MKTG 280 (5) - Principles of Marketing Management (prerequisite: 15 ECON 101)
Upper-level Courses
Note: 22 QA 281 (4) & 282 (4) (or equivalent) are required prerequisites for the
upper-level courses.
- 22 FIN 380 (4) - Business Finance I (prerequisites: 15 ECON 101, 22 ACCT 281 & 282, 22 QA 281 & 282)
- 22 OM 380 (4) - Operations Management (prerequisites: 22 QA 281 & 282)
