The Eta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Co-ed Professional Business Fraternity is active year-round. Members gain a broader understanding of the business world through guest speakers, interaction with business leaders, and involvement with the alumni chapter. These events better prepare members for future professional careers and supplement the classroom experience. Although we place major emphasis on professional activities, social activities such as parties, intramural sports, camp-outs, and weekly outings are also part of the Eta Chapter's agenda. We also try to give back to the community through service events and campus activities.
Alpha Kappa Psi was founded in 1904, and is the oldest and largest co-ed professional business fraternity. The objectives of Alpha Kappa Psi are set forth to develop outstanding business leaders within the community through education, service, and leadership. They strive to provide great outlets to develop professional, social, and interpersonal skills, as well as emphasize high standards of personal and professional conduct and ethics – all qualities that lead to success.
There are several benefits of joining Alpha Kappa Psi including organizational skills, business education, professional contacts, leadership experience, networking skills, but most of all friendships. The Eta Chapter of the University of Cincinnati is active year-round, organizing professional activities, social activities and giving back to the community through service events. Many members have also enjoyed prestigious co-op positions with prominent companies such as Procter & Gamble, Deloitte & Touche, KPMG, General Electric, Fifth Third Bancorp, and Cincinnati Bell among others. The time-commitment is what you want it to be, equivalent to a 1-credit hour class. Everyone is expected to attend weekly meetings which are held Wednesday nights, and participate in fraternity functions such as fundraising and service events. The University of Cincinnati Alpha Kappa Psi chapter holds rush for new members during Fall and Winter quarters.
ARE is a professional Real Estate Fraternity which provides students with exposure to the industry. PSE is a co-ed marketing and sales professional fraternity. They are an organization that provides students with real-world marketing and sales experience. PSE does a variety of projects on and off campus, some of which have included working for companies such as Procter and Gamble, The Waterfront, and Freshtracks Music. The projects range from marketing research to advertising strategy. In addition to marketing and sales projects, they host social events and participate in philanthropic activities.
PSE is a very unique organization in the fact that they are comprised of a wide array of majors. Some PSE members major in marketing, finance, engineering, DAAP, and a variety of others.
