Applicants may express interest in being considered for both tuition and assistantship financial aid simply by checking the appropriate area on p. 3 of the MSQA Application Form. These awards are made competitively, based on merit (grades, prior coursework, test scores, letters of recommendation, etc.).
Most of our financial aid is allocated for students starting in the Autumn quarter; very limited amounts may be available at other times. The amount of financial aid available varies annually, as does the competition for it. In addition to having excellent credentials, timeliness of the application is important; while we do not have rigid deadlines for application for admission, applicants should have their file complete by February 15 to ensure full consideration for financial aid starting in the following Autumn quarter.
University Graduate Scholarship (UGS)
- This form of aid is applied toward tuition, and the amount varies. See Tuition and Fees for details on the costs.
University Graduate Assistantship (UGA)
- This form of aid is direct payment for full-time (20 hours per week) or part-time work for the QAOM Department or for the College of Business. The nature of the work might include (among other things) grading, holding office hours to assist undergraduate students, working as a computer assistant, teaching, assisting a professor with research, assisting the Program, and helping to administer a professional journal. Many of these positions are filled during the first of the Autumn quarter which begins in late September. If you are interested in being considered for a UGA, please indicate the skills that you have that may be a fit for any of our potential needs on your resume that you include as part of your application.
