MS-Marketing Admissions
Full-time Students are admitted into the MS-Marketing program to begin in the Autumn quarter. Part-time students may begin in any quarter.
Application Package Deadlines:
Completed application packages are considered on a quarterly basis; please note the deadlines below - the review of your application will only begin after all components of your application package have been received (application packages completed after the deadline date will be considered at the next deadline). Once the deadline for the quarter has passed, application packages will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified within 2 months.
It is especially important that international applicants complete their application packages before the April 15th deadline due to visa requirements. International students requiring the completion of Basic Business Knowledge requirements should complete their application package early (October 15 or January 15 deadline) in order to resolve appropriate international matters.
Deadline Dates:
- October 15
- For completed application packages received August 16 - October 15
- Decisions will be made by November 1
- January 15
- For completed application packages received October 16 - January 15
- Decisions will be made by February 15
- April 15
- For completed application packages received January 16 - April 15
- Decisions will be made by May 15
- August 15
- For completed application packages received April 16 - August 15

Application packages received after the deadline date will be considered on a space-available, exception-only basis. Applicants should note that if they have not completed the necessary course for fulfillment of Basic Business Knowledge (BBK), they will need to complete that coursework during the MS-Marketing program.
We must receive all of the following items in the Graduate Programs Office in the College of Business prior to evaluating your application package for an admission decision:
- UC Application for General Graduate Admission - This application is required of all graduate applicants to the University of Cincinnati. There is an application fee. This form must be completed online at https://www.grad.uc.edu/admissions/app.
- GMAT or GRE Scores - Have your official scores sent directly to us by Educational Testing Services (our ETS number is 1833). Scores are valid for five years. To register for the GMAT, you may call 1-800-GMAT-NOW or register via the internet at www.gmat.org. To register for the GRE, you may call 1-800-GRE-CALL, or register via the internet at www.gre.org. GMAT score minimum is 550 with an Analytical score of 4.5. GRE score total minimum is 1000 (must have 500 minimum component score) with an Analytical score of 4.5. Please note that there are minimum scores; acceptance to the MS-Marketing program is competitive so achieving a minimum GMAT or GRE score does not guarantee acceptance.
- Academic Transcripts - Please have official transcripts sent to you in a sealed envelope from each college or university you have attended - regardless of whether you graduated or how many credit hours you earned. Include all transcripts in their originally sealed envelopes as part of your application. Minimum GPA is 3.2. A transcript request form is included in the MS-Marketing application package.
- Letters of Recommendation - You need letters from at least two people who are familiar with your ability and accomplishments. Please provide each of these individuals with a copy of the recommendation form (included in the MS-Marketing application package). Have your references send their letters to you in a sealed envelope, and include these sealed envelopes in your application package.
- Résumé or CV - You must include a current résumé or CV with your application.
- Official TOEFL Scores - If English is not your native language, you must also provide us with your TOEFL score. Scores should be sent directly to the university from ETS (Our ETS code is 1833). Information about TOEFL is available on the internet at www.toefl.org. Minimum TOEFL Scores are:
- Internet-Based Test: 100
- Computer-Based Test: 250
- Paper-Based Test: 600
Once all of these items have been received, your application package will be sent to the Executive Director of the MS-Marketing Program and an admission decision will be made in consultation with the MS-Marketing Committee. Once an admission decision has been made, the file is returned to the Graduate Programs Office, whose staff will send you an official letter with the decision.
For international applicants, additional information (e.g., help with visa issues) may be obtained from the International Student Services Office.
