A World-Class Program in a World-Class Institution
The College of Business at the University of Cincinnati presents an innovative degree program designed to provide students with the tools necessary to pursue a highly successful career in Information Systems: the Master of Science in Information Systems (MS-IS). The MS-IS can be completed either full-time or part-time. A flexible innovative curriculum accommodates students with diverse educational backgrounds and work experiences.
Knowledge Today for the Challenges of Tomorrow
With a comprehensive and well-planned set of academic requirements, the MS-IS curriculum offers an extensive selection of courses that cover all important aspects of IS: Systems Analysis and Development, Databases, Data Communications and Networks, Web Application Development, ERP Systems, IT Security, and Project Management.
Talking the Talk, Walking the Walk
Experience-based learning is an integral component of the MS-IS. Co-op opportunities provide full-time students a chance to acquire practical knowledge and establish or further their careers in the leading companies of the region. Part-time students engage in faculty supervised projects that translate classroom concepts into cutting edge solutions in their own companies, bringing immediate and tangible rewards to both the student and the company.
The MS-IS faculty have extensive experience in both industry and academia and are among the leading scholars in the field of IS. They leverage their expertise to offer practical, leading edge courses that are designed to put students two steps ahead of the competition.
The Right Connections in a Networked World
The IS Department and the College of Business have established close links with the Greater Cincinnati business community and technology partnerships with major IS vendors and solution-providers, such as Oracle, Microsoft, Dell, SAP, Bluespring, Computer Associates, and IBM. These partnerships assure that students have access to the latest software applications and state of the art equipment.
