Beginning in the Autumn Quarter 1993, the College of Business and the College of Nursing and Health implemented a dual degree program to prepare students for executive leadership and management positions in a variety of health services organization settings.
The curriculum consists of courses in the nursing program core, nursing service adminstration, and business administration. Courses in the nursing service administration major focus on organizational theory, administrative processes and operations, human resources management, financial analysis and management, and health policy issues. A minimum of 60 graduate credit hours is required by the College of Nursing and Health. Course work in the College of Business focuses on financial analysis, operations, and strategic management; global economics and competitive analysis; advanced analytical skills and technology; and marketing. The College of Business requires a minimum of 66 quarter credit hours, 48 hours of which are College of Business core courses. At least one elective must be taken in an international area. Twelve credit hours taken in the College of Nursing & Health may be used to meet College of Business elective requirements. Course work to meet both degrees can be accomplished in seven (7) academic quarters of full-time study.
