The Goering Center also attempts to address issues faced by the professional advisor community in dealing with family businesses, as well as, deal with issues faced by key non-family members employed by family businesses.
Family Business Executive Luncheon Series
Bi-Monthly luncheon features CEO's and Top Management from some of our award winning Family Business of the Year honorees. The presenters will share their advice and personal experiences dealing with such critical issues as: Succession Planning and Implementation; Strategic Planning, both Family and Businesses; Governance Issues (Board of Directors, Advisors, Insider/Outsider Involvement); Family Meetings to Facilitate Communication; Conflict Resolution Process, Communication Techniques, Customer Service; Productive use of Technology; Valuation of Business for Different Purposes; Multiple Shareholder Dynamics (Family in/out of Business); Philanthropy Strategies; Security - Approaches and Ideas.
Executive Breakfast Seminar
Each month we offer our Core Members timely and highly informative seminars covering topics that family firms will find extremely valuable. This program is free to our Core Members.
Educational Forum
Led by a national expert, Goering Center Educational Forums will speak to the specific concerns of family businesses such as estate planning and weal transfer, family strategic planning and family councils, effective family communications, and other key success factors.
Community Partnerships
Partnering with area Chambers and professional associations offering learning opportunities to association members in the areas of Succession Planning, Wealth Transfer, and Communications.
Students in the College of Business at the University of Cincinnati can declare an integral concentration in the area of family business with course offerings grounding the students in the very unique issues facing family firms. An Internship program is also under development where students will be able to gain first hand experience working in family businesses during alternate quarters of their undergraduate years.
