Doing Business in Germany March 19 - March 24 2006
Aachen is situated directly on the border with Belgium and the Netherlands. It is Germany's most westerly city, with a population of nearly 260,000. Charlemagne has left his mark throughout the city. The cathedral and the gothic City Hall in which 32 German kings celebrated their coronations still form the heart of Aachen's old city centre.
Nearly 40,000 students attend Aachen's five major colleges and universities (Rhineland-Westphalian Technical University [RWTH], University of Applied Sciences, Catholic University of Applied Sciences, Academy of Music and Academy of Church Music).
Students from both RWTH and UC joined together for this exciting international elective. The course offered UC students the opportunity to learn cross-cultural knowledge from fellow students and German professors. Students were able to visit company sites and enhance their knowledge of foreign business. Companies included SIG and Cinram.
