The bachelor of business administration degree is based on the belief that graduates should be proficient in practical business skills and be able to use these skills cross-functionally within various types of businesses.
The business administration major is an appropriate choice for students whose career goals require a program covering the broad area of business functions. It allows students to create a program of interdisciplinary study to meet academic interests from upper-division courses in the College of Business. This major may be of particular interest to non-traditional students with experience in business who prefer a broad overview of business courses or a specialization in two or more areas of study rather than depth in a particular discipline. Students with a significant number of transfer hours at the upper-division level may find that the business administration major offers a quicker path to the BBA degree.
The Business Administration major consists of six College of Business courses (24 credit hours) at the 300 level or above. Each course must be a required or discipline-specific elective course in one of the other majors or concentrations in the college. Students intending to declare the major in business administration must satisfy all the requirements for admission to a major in the college.
