Management emphasizes the development of individual skills necessary for successful managerial careers in a diverse and global workplace. It combines a core curriculum covering the functional areas of business (accounting, economics, finance, information systems, marketing, and operations management) with specialized coursework in management.
The sequence begins with an examination of the managerial environment and organizational behavior. Next, studies are directed into managerial effectiveness, human resource management, technology and innovation management, and organizational change. A strategic management course caps the program, as students consider the interaction of all facets of management in the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for a firm.
In addition to the opportunities provided by the selected focus concentration, completing this integral concentration will provide building blocks necessary to grow into a management or leadership position. Options include bank management, retail management, and service industry positions.
