The objective of the International Business Integral is to broaden a student's awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by business in a global economy. Courses are designed to enhance the skills a student has already achieved. Beginning with a core global business environment course, the program moves to international studies in accounting, finance, management, cultural differences, marketing, economics or law. Capping the program is a field study or project course to demonstrate problem solving skills in international business.
Several exciting opportunities are offered, including for-credit classes at our partner universities outside the United States. Students can obtain 3-18 US credits depending on the length of the program. Furthermore, students have the option of completing their whole integral either during summer quarter (includes 3 weeks in Thailand) or during winter quarter (includes 3 weeks in Chile). Also, the international co-op program offers options of working in a foreign country for an extended period of time.
The international business integral concentration is a gateway to many jobs in the global economy. Combining this concentration with a finance focus leads to opportunities in the field of international finance and banking. Integrating it with marketing can provide experience in adapting projects and services for international markets. Cross-cultural understanding is valuable not only in global companies but also in the increasingly diverse domestic market.
