The first step toward a degree in The College of Business is the successful completion of a series of general knowledge courses. These courses provide a core of knowledge that prepares the student for participation in the upper-division program. Once the following preparatory courses are completed, the student achieves junior-level status and may register for upper-division business courses (any course numbered 300 or higher).
- English 101, 102 and 103 *
- Math 228 and 229 (10 hrs) *
- Introduction to Economics 101, 102 and 271 *
- Communication Arts 171, and 201 or 202 *
- Financial Accounting 261 (4 hrs) *
- Managerial Accounting 262 (3 hrs) *
- Information Systems 270 (3 hrs) *
- Business Statistics 241, 242 (6 hrs) *
- Business Law 271 (3 hrs) *
- Information Technology 141 (3 hrs) *
* Students who fail to complete these courses before enrolling in junior core and higher level business classes will be dropped from said higher level courses.
