The College of Business Student Ambassador Program is comprised of a select group of students chosen through an application and interview process. These students value service to the college, university, and community, as well as scholastic achievement. They demonstrate their dedication to these qualities through their studies and by serving as ambassadors for the College of Business. They represent the college at numerous collegiate functions, professional events and key promotional events.
The selection process begins in July. Letters and applications are sent to all sophomores, pre-juniors and juniors with a 2.5 or above. About forty applicants are selected for the interview process. The process begins with an information session to further explain the Student Ambassador Program. From the forty interviews, around twenty students are selected to serve as Ambassadors.
Ambassadors serve for one-year. Students have the opportunity to continue each year, as long as the requirements and expectations of the program are met.
The Ambassadors also raise money each year to be awarded to a freshman in the form of a $1500 scholarship. They also give a $1,500 Founders Scholarship to a student in their sophomore, pre-junior, or junior year. The purpose of the scholarships is to reward and recognize students who best exemplify the qualities of a College of Business Student Ambassador. For the Freshman Scholarship, the candidate must have completed the freshman year here in the College of Business Administration and to have demonstrated outstanding service to the College of Business Administration, the University of Cincinnati, and their community, while maintaining good academic standing. The Founders Scholarship has the same requirements as the Freshman Scholarship, except they must have been enrolled and completed at least two quarters in the College of Business.
