David C. Burns is Ernst & Young Professor of Accounting. He received his MBA and DBA degrees from Indiana University at Bloomington Indiana in 1971 and 1972 respectively. David received his BBA degree from University of Cincinnati in 1968. Mr. Burns' primary research interests are focused on the areas of auditing, internal control, audit risk assessment and professionalism in the accounting arena. David has published articles dealing with these areas in: The Accounting Review, Auditing; A Journal of Practice & Theory, The Journal of Accountancy, Internal Auditor, The EDP Auditors Journal, Internal Auditing, The Accounting Historians Journal, The Ohio CPA Journal,The Government Accountants Journal, The Journal of Bank Accounting and Auditing,The Journal of Accounting and Finance Research and, The CPA Journal. Dave has served as principal investigator on two Office of Naval Research Grants and also served as Editor of Internal Auditing for 18 years.
