Jeffrey D. Camm is Professor of Quantitative Analysis, CoB Research Fellow and Head of the Department of Quantitative Analysis and Operations Management. His current research interests include discrete optimization modeling and algorithms for applications in facility location, supply chain optimization and product design. He has published over thirty papers in a variety of journals including Management Science, Operations Research, Science, Interfaces, Naval Research Logistics, Decision Sciences, The Journal of Operations Management, IIE Transactions, and The European Journal of Operational Research. The U.S. Air force, the U.S. Office of Naval Research, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy and the New South Wales Parks and Wildlife Service have funded his research. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Interfaces and is coauthor (with James Evans) of two texts, Management Science, Modeling, Analysis and Interpretation (1996), and Management Science and Decision Technology (2000). Professor Camm was the recipient of the 2006 INFORMS Prize for Teaching of Operations Research and Management Science Practice.
A firm believer in practicing what he preaches, he has served as an operations research consultant to Procter & Gamble, The Kroger Company, General Electric, The United States Air Force, Ernst and Young Supply Chain Operations, Senco, Cinergy, Louisville Gas & Electric, Owens Corning, Big Rock Sports, Medrad, Road Runner Sports and Dade Behring. His work in supply chain optimization with Procter & Gamble was a 1996 Edelman Award Finalist and his joint work on efficient conservation, published in Science, appeared in a brief to President Clinton in 1998.
In 1992, Professor Camm was a visiting scholar at Stanford University's School of Engineering and in 2004-2005, he was a visiting professor of business administration at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
