Diane Breiner is Program Development Coordinator at the Economics Center. Her primary duties include finding engaging math resources, primarily at the middle school level, with either an economic or personal finance context that teachers can use to supplement what they're already doing in the math classroom. The goals are to have an impact on raising math test scores, teach economics and personal finance and help teachers use activities that are hands-on, interactive and relevant to student's lives. The development of this program will be a natural continuation of the STEP program for grades 6-8
She joined the Center in June 2007 after teaching middle school math, language arts, and science for 10 years in the Lebanon City and Kings Local School Districts. She most recently served as math and science teacher leader at Columbia Elementary.
Diane obtained her undergraduate degree from Miami University and has taken graduate courses in Curriculum and Instruction here at UC. She is a National Board Certified Teacher earning this distinction in 2003 in the area of Early Adolescence Mathematics.
