The Cintas Corporation Business Professional Development Program

The Cintas Business Professional Development Program builds the knowledge, skills and expectations necessary for business students to mature into effective professionals. Program components emphasize business etiquette, communications, job search practices and ethics. This innovative program is required in the Lindner Honors-PLUS Program.

Program:

Business Etiquette – This one-credit seminar develops the skills that enhance vital professional interactions, including business networking, meetings, introductions and fine dinning. Students received hands-on practice as they learn about the importance of such seemingly small things as proper attire, firm handshakes and dining etiquette.

Resume and Interview Skills Seminar – This one-credit seminar helps students develop professional resumes and present themselves professionally during interviews. Taped, mock interviews enable students to review and critique their own behaviors.

Public Speaking – This three-credit course seeks to develop public speaking skills and confidence. Students practice a variety of techniques and styles.

Business Communications – This three-credit course fosters effective written and oral communications. Business writing and presentation approaches are examined and applied.

Business Ethics – This three-credit course develops the knowledge and skills to analyze and attempt to resolve real-life critical dilemmas that are a ubiquitous and inevitable feature of business decisions. Real-life cases are presented and analyzed.
