A Wealth of Opportunities
Our undergraduate program provides students with an array of academic opportunities:
The college experience is more than just attending classes. It is a major investment in your success. The College of Business is committed to partnering with its students to help them build a portfolio of classes, experiential learning, cultural competence, and leadership skills to make them competitive in today's market.
The College offers the BBA with options of majoring in one of the following business disciplines: accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship, finance, information systems, international business, marketing, operations management, and real estate. Coupled with the major, the program provides students with a broad liberal arts experience, options in languages, global area studies and study abroad, and an emphasis on global issues.
Students begin in an innovative first-year-experience program which combines learning communities with “Project Fast Track,” which provides students with structured interaction with local business professionals.
Revised as of the autumn quarter, 2006, the BBA curriculum contains enough hours of electives that CoB students have the possibility of adding a second major or concentration in a secondary business discipline or of pursuing an outside minor in the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences.
Real World Experience & Leadership
The Professional Practice (co-op) program, founded at UC in 1906, has been providing generations of business students with paid, real-world professional experience. CoB co-op students leave the College with their bachelors' degrees and at least a full year's paid experience. Their co-op employers hire many of these students after graduation.
CoB students gain valuable leadership experience throughout the UC campus, regularly serving as organization presidents, student senators, and student representative to the UC Board of Trustees. Many of our students capture such awards as Homecoming King and Queen, Mr. Bearcat, and numerous other honors and scholarships.
A Global Launching Pad on the Ohio
The College of Business sponsors study abroad programs so that students may further their portfolio of experiences by studying in:
A growing number of CoB students are incorporating an overseas experience into their academic program. We can help make this an affordable reality.
Imagine having been President of the student Financial Management Association, graduating from the College with a BBA in Finance, along with a minor in Spanish, having spent part of a quarter studying in Chile, combined with four quarters of co-op experience with a major bank! That student could be you at UC!
