Why join the Kolodzik Business Scholars Program?

Flexibility for Specialization – Program coursework and experiential options allow students to design their business specialty to match their personal strengths and interests to career opportunities.

Integrating Themes – Emphasis on innovation, globalization and collaboration ensures that students' business specialties meet the exciting and ever-changing demands of business.

Co-op or other Professional Experience – Students gain vital and paid work experience through UC Professional Practice, the founders of co-op (1906) and the national leader of co-op today.

Fast Track Freshmen Experience – Freshmen connect with a small learning community (group of 20-25 students) that takes common courses and completes Project Fast Track paired with a major corporation.

Scholarships – Students may receive financial support in addition to CINCINNATUS scholarships and other aid.

How are entering freshmen admitted into the Kolodzik Business Scholars Program?

Entering freshmen are selected into the Kolodzik Business Scholars Program. (This is not a separate application process.) The College of Business Undergraduate Admission's Council evaluates each student profile compiled from the University of Cincinnati and CINCINNATUS applications. Interviews are conducted jointly with the Lindner Honors-PLUS program. If you have questions, please contact Scott Gregory, Director of Admissions.

Can transfer students and students in CoB or other UC colleges join Kolodzik Business Scholars?

Absolutely. If you have a 3.4 university GPA or above and have earned 12 credit hours and have been accepted into the College of Business, you are eligible. All potential candidates are invited to interview for admissions.

How do the Kolodzik Business Scholars and Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS Programs differ?

The Kolodzik Business Scholars and Lindner Honors-PLUS programs are complementary, but separate and independent. Students can only be in one of the programs. Below is a program comparison.

Covers (in-state) tuition and academic fees, renewable for 12 quarters

$2500 scholarship guaranteed for first year, renewable annually (up to 12 quarters) depending on academic performance and program progress

10 transfer/transition and 10 current CoB students prior to their junior year

Study Abroad

Mandatory:
3 week program for all juniors; rotating between Europe and Asia

Students must complete:
- An international experience (numerous study abroad options or international co-op)
And/Or
- A field study or innovation studio

Professional Experience

Mandatory:
Freshmen summer internship
6 co-op rotations

Students must complete a professional experience, such as a minimum of 4 co-op rotations or a substantial internship or other work experience

Coursework

Mandatory:
Lock-step curriculum
(15-18 required courses)

Students tailor coursework to meet their particular major requirements and to reach their personal goals
