Marvin P. Kolodzik Business Scholars Admissions

BSP Welcome Day Group PhotoThe Kolodzik Business Scholars (KBS) program seeks to admit new freshmen, transfer and transition students and current College of Business students dedicated to outstanding academic performance. Interviews are mandatory for all potential candidates. Admission is highly selective.

Incoming Freshmen Admissions
Kolodzik Business Scholars pride themselves on outstanding performance. They demonstrate excellence in the classroom, in their professional and international experiences, and in their service and campus activities. Minimally, to be considered for admission into the KBS program, incoming freshmen must be Cincinnatus qualified. If you feel you would be a competitive candidate, please consider applying to the program. All applicants are reviewed for potential admission for the upcoming autumn quarter. The 2008-2009 incoming freshmen cohort consisted of 35 students with the following profile:

  • Average High School GPA: 3.75
  • Average ACT: 27.3
  • Average SAT: 1188

Application: The KBS admission process for students planning to enter the College of Business as Freshmen during the 2009-2010 academic year has ended.

CoB/Transfer/Transition Admissions
Nearly half of all Kolodzik Business Scholars do not begin the program as freshmen. This group includes high performing students within the College of Business, potential transfers from other Universities or potential transition students from other UC programs. Last year, KBS welcomed applications from over 60 students who had already begun their college careers. Approximately 25 students were offered admission to KBS, boasting an average GPA over 3.7 with an impressive variety of professional, leadership, service and/or international experiences.

To be considered for admission, incoming transfer/transition and current College of Business students must have six full-time academic quarters remaining in either the Bachelor of Business Administration or the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management degree as of the upcoming Autumn quarter. If you meet these requirements and feel you would be a competitive candidate, please consider applying to the program. The majority of non-freshmen are admitted during the spring KBS admission process. In some exceptional cases, decisions can be made at other points in the academic year.

Application: To be considered for the spring KBS admission process, please submit an application by April 17, 2009.
